We’re living through strange unprecedented times and we are all trying to navigate. This blog is edited with up to date information on weddings in Ireland and what are the changes due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and how we can help from our side.

There is not much clarity provided by the government in regards to when and how weddings can take place again in Ireland. More than 3000 people have signed a petition calling on the government to be more transparent.

Small weddings will be permitted in phase 4 which scheduled for after July 20th. Larger weddings will be permitted in phase 5, which is scheduled for after August 10th. Beyond maintaining social distancing there has been no further guidance by Government on the restrictions or on what constitutes a small or large wedding.

“Without the clarity of knowing what the rules are, couples don’t know how many guests they can bring, they don’t know if the weddings can actually take place and the businesses don’t know how they will be able to accommodate people with social distancing guidelines,”

Whenever there is a problem, there is always a solution to the problem.

The truth is that Covid 19 has disrupted the wedding industry. Our advice? Be prepared and follow the news closely, maintain conversation with your vendors and guests.

It is important to have and develop a Plan B back-up date if you plan to postpone your wedding. Demand for 2021 dates are high, and you should not wait too long to contact a vendor. It is important to remember that you do have options, contact your vendors and ask for guidance.

During this time, many couples and families are struggling and some of the venders have started to provide discounts, special deals on packages. Great opportunity for many to hire a quality service. At Oak and Oak Wedding Films, we provide special prices, get in contact with us to see what we can do for you. We are learning and expanding our ability to provide quality service.

Is Wedding Videography Really Worth the Investment?

In short – it is definitely a must. Video coverage means you will get to relive some of your favourite wedding moments. And you will be able to share these moments with your family and friends over and over again. Maybe you will show this video to your kids one day. The day literally flies by and there are things you will miss that your videographer will capture beautifully.
